My neighbor has a red male standard smooth coated Dachshund named Rascal. He is a great dog but he constantly pees. They neutered him but it didn't help. He lives outside because of this. Do you know anything about Rascal's problem?

I have three dachshunds. One is 6 years old and has been gaining weight for about a year. He is now up to 38#s. He drinks water heavily and urinates often and is very hesitant to even get up. He is always hungry. He has been tested for cushings disease and various others but nothing seems to be wrong. In the last two weeks he has been losing his eyesight and smell. The vet has decided to begin treatment for cushings because he is deteriorating so quickly. We will also travel to the teaching college, again, for a cat-scan to look for a tumor. We and the Vet are down to the last explorable options. I need to hear from anyone who has experienced these symtoms in their dog.The doctors have semi ruled out petuitary, adrenal glands and no organs seem to be diseased. I would appreciate any feedback. Our Dachshund is about 1 year, a little more, and he has a problem; he has a bladder control problem. Well, he usually can hold himself to go to the bathroom, but for awhile he would pee when strangers pet him, or just anyone who scared him. Hell go around the house and pee randomly, even if we just let him out. He could be "marking" his territory, or is it a problem. We brought him to the vet, not necessarily for that problem, but they couldnt tell what was wrong. Would neutering him do anything? Please help me. I would like to find a red or a dapple male dachshund. I would like to have a show quality or a well conformed pet quality dog. I would prefer a puppy, but would be just as happy with a young adult dog. It will be treated very well.

I have a standard Dachshund that is 9 years old. His health is starting to fail him. This morning he had a seizure. I also think that he is going blind. Can anyone tell me if these dogs age early in life.
